Which HP Laptop Is The Best
Which HP laptop is the best? This is another question we have received and will try to answer in this article. Personally I don’t think there is a laptop that can be called “the best”. There could be one model that is the best for its price range and another one which is the best for its category (like business for example). Let’s just assume that the best laptop is the most expensive one. We have looked for the most expensive HP laptops and came up with 2 models worth mentioning about. So, here are two reviews that may help you determine which HP laptop is the best.

The HP Elitebook 8730w is a laptop worth over $3000 but it’s something people would kill to have. No matter what industry you work in, your office is still in need of some powerful computers that can run multiple tasks at the fastest possible speed. This laptop is only for the premium segment, for people that need a lot of power out of their notebook, for those who are willing to spend thousands of dollars on a good computer. With the lid and chassis covered in brushed aluminum, this laptop is not also powerful but it’s also good looking. Above the nice keyboard you will find a set of touch sensitive buttons that have different features like controlling the sound volume and turning on an off the wireless card. This 17 inch laptop also has a numerical pad, just like most similarly sized laptops do. We have both a touchpad and a pointing stick and we love the fact that HP gives us the possibility to choose. We customers love to have a wide variety of choices. This laptop has 2 different sets of mouse buttons, one set is for the touchpad and the other one is for the pointer. Between the left and right mouse buttons of both the sets, there is another button which you can customize to perform many actions. By default, this button can be used for scrolling web pages and documents.

For an extra $24 you can choose the 2.0 mega pixel webcam which can prove to be useful when you are having a conference call. The amazing display is capable of rendering more than 15 million colors. It is amazing how you’ll fall in love with the display. As far as performance goes, the EliteBook 8730w is way above the category average. You laptop will boot Windows Vista in 53 second which means it’s 15 seconds faster than other laptops of the same category. We owe this performance to the 2.93-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9800 processor and the 4 GB of Ram which can be upgraded to a maximum 8 GB. The nVidia Quadro FX 2700M graphics card with 512 MB of video memory will allow you play Far Cry 2 at medium setting. However, this is not a laptop we recommend for gaming. The battery life is disappointing. We expected to see some performance coming from an 8-cell battery but unfortunately the laptop will only stay turned on for 2 hours and 35 minutes while surfing the internet on a wireless connection. This is why we recommend you keep this laptop plugged in if you want to use it for long continuous hours.

If you want to save some money, HP will help you by offering a wide variety of preconfigured models (and if they don’t meet you own requirements, you can configure one for yourself). The base model has a price of $1,699 and it is equipped with a 2.26-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor, some 2 GB of RAM, 160 GB of HDD, the ATI Mobility FireGL V5725 graphics plus the 1680 x 1050 display. The best of these models is worth $3,999 and it comes with a 3.06-GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme X9100 processor (which is pretty amazing and powerful), 4 GB of RAM, another 250 GB of free hard disk space, the nVidia Quadro FX 3700M graphics card and the 1920 x 1200 DreamColor display.

If the first laptop has left you drooling, wait until you see our second choice. The HP Pavilion HDX is a laptop hard to describe in words. You can rest assured that it has some features that are worth its price of $4070. What’s so special about this laptop, you ask? Well, where should we start? Part of its beauty comes from the 20 inch display (yes, 20 inches) and 4 Altec Lansing speakers. Since it weights around 16 pounds, it’s easy to carry it from one room to another but carrying it anywhere outside the house is not recommended. The display is supported by dual hinges and this means you can move the display back and forth instead of leaning back and forth yourself. This laptop has a great deal of touch sensitive buttons. Some of them have simple multimedia functions like play or pause and other are dedicated to launching applications like webcam or TV.

This beautiful laptop come with its very own remote control so not only have you bought a notebook, you bought a desktop replacement, a TV and home cinema all together in this awesome HP Pavilion. Now, what other advantages were there? Oh, yes! A 2.6-GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU X7800 for starters, plus 2 GB of RAM, 240 GB of disk space and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT video card with 512 MB of memory. The webcam will provide great images even if the lights are low and the TV tuner will save you the effort of having to buy a TV for your room. As for the ports and connection, HP did not let us down. You have four USB ports, a FireWire port, HDMI out, two headphone jacks and an eSATA port. Other cool features are a stereo audio input, the S-Video input and an NTSC/ATSC input for HDTV. Someone tell me, except for the spicy price, what is not to love about this laptop?
Since we can’t offer a precise response to the question stated at the beginning of this article, we are going to let you check out some other reviews and determine if there is any HP laptop better than the two we presented above. Good luck!
